Stepped outside to breath in the moist cool
air... it's 22 degrees F here this morning and a bit of snow is falling.
I paused a moment and soaked in the concert of bird song for a moment.
Of course the Pominators were trying to compete as I
had left them in the house. Yes they put up a howl every time I go out
the door without them. Gave all the house hairballs a bit of baked

I’ve been sorting through paperwork most of the day. After dinner I stepped outside with a bit of cinnamon whiskey and watched and listened to the night come in.
Wonderful time of day. Not a breath of wind this evening just a wonderful dusk darkening into night.
The mastiffs came out with me and romped around the yard going on guard as they heard one neighbor’s dog then another Mary E. Robbinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018140363510401623noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598462320803334230.post-37989432004166641522012-04-20T06:49:00.001-07:002012-04-20T06:49:22.122-07:00Beautiful Calm Morning
Good Morning Peeps… Beautiful Calm Morning. No wind at all.
The sun is shining melting the ice from the freeze last night. Ran the house Pominators out before the sun was up… they are back inside sleeping again now. The mastiffs are out in the house yard.
I hear Captain (Yellow Lab) doing his morning bark routine. Must be a ranch cat in the midyard bugging him. Or he is barking just to be Mary E. Robbinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018140363510401623noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598462320803334230.post-59213371886263350392012-04-15T05:22:00.000-07:002012-04-15T05:22:47.013-07:00Cloudy morning concert...
6:05 a.m. we have cloud cover from horizon to horizon. A beautiful study in grays across the morning sky. The wind is sweeping in from the west carrying the smell of wet snow and rain.
We had a bit of rain yesterday so the air is fresh and clean not filled with powdered dust swirling about. It is a bracing 39 degrees F. this fine spring day.
I stood in my front door closed my eyes and Mary E. Robbinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018140363510401623noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598462320803334230.post-34804429646034509492012-01-27T06:54:00.000-08:002012-01-27T06:54:06.984-08:00Shared Breakfast and Early Morning Birdsong. The hubs and I just finished breakfast…grapefruit, basted eggs, golden potatoes sautéed in olive oil, grilled pepper bacon, and fresh strong black coffee.
I stepped outside to breathe in the wonderful moist air and to listen to the birds celebrating the morning. I love the sound of them, their voices all individual in their song, yet in wonderful harmony. The aged juniper tree in the front yard Mary E. This little bird caught my eye, he was clinging to the stalk of a horse weed pecking away. I was wishing I had my camera, but alas I did not. He had a red mark on the back of his head, a white belly and black wings. It wasn’t until this evening that I sat down at the computer and did a search to see if I could Mary E. I love the first blush of the morning, just before sunrise when you can just see the light coming up the eastern horizon. This morning it is so calm. A welcome relief after the winds of yesterday.
I got up put the kettle on for a bit of tea, put a load of laundry in the washer. Those compression pants I’d been wearing were in dire need of a good wash. Had a brief word with my husband, he’s Mary E. Not as much as a few days ago but enough to make me very glad that we only received a skiff of snow. Just enough to cover the ground. Had it continued to snow with that wind it would have been a Wyoming blizzard in the truest sense.
Such was not to be today. The bit of snow we had this morning melted and the moisture held the blowing dirt and sand to a minimumMary E. Robbinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02018140363510401623noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4598462320803334230.post-16612695514054932302010-05-15T08:11:00.001-07:002010-05-15T08:32:33.745-07:00Musings on a Rainy Day...It’s a rainy foggy morning. When I first got up it was as if we were shrouded in a fuzzy gray wrap. It was not possible to see beyond the posts on the opposite side of the road. That was several hours ago. It is still raining, not flooding, just a slow gentle rain. The kind that makes the grasses in the pastures and the trees celebrate in an explosion of life. The Fog has cleared a bit, I Mary E. I love these old fashioned yellow roses. They are so beautiful and hardy. These tough babies survived having a skid loader run over them. I am so glad they made it. I was not happy with the fellow that ran over them however.Frankly I don't think he gave much of a care what I thought. Oh well, these wonderful roses survived anyway. They are actually in Mary E. The wind is blowing and it is snowing a wet sticky snow. I’m going to see if I can capture some of the beauty with my camera after the sun peeks over the horizon.I woke up about 45 minutes ago. Ran the house dogs outside to do their business and stood in the door and soaked up the beauty of a small elm tree flocked with Mary E. I drove to the little post office and it was running along the side of the gravel road, then it dashed across. Of course I didn’t have my camera. So the only picture I captured of it is in my mind’s eye. Beautiful bright red fox. No he didn't have an accordian...nor was he/she wearing bib overalls.
